Sims and James search the community for the propable parents but when no one comes foward, Sims decides to send the baby to an orpanage. Harriet, who had wanted a child demands that Sims let them keep the child but he refuses until the authorities show up to take the child. Having heard of Sims' plans James returns to the recent widower, who he suspects is the father and informs him of Sims' intentions. The real father returns to the Sims' to reclaim his son and Mary offers to help him with the baby.
